Playing with pigment: west view

Here’s a  warm-up sketch. This is the view outside my studio window.  Actually, there is a huge tree right in front of the window which I must crane my neck from side to side to see around.

I didn’t like the look of my neighbors house so I swapped it out for the next house down the road.  Next time I think I’ll add a happy little deer off to the  right and maybe a fence post  in the foreground on the left to add a sense of perspective.

I was  experimenting to see how I should handle bare tree’s in the distance. I thought dropping some  color around the tree tops might create the illusion of twigs and branches.  I thought wrong.

Wasting paper is not a waste of time.
